Delete your account
Account deletion is only available from inside the Freeshop app.
1How to delete your account
Open Freeshop on your phone, go to Account settings → Delete account, and confirm. The app calls DELETE /api/v1/me with your signed-in session; your account is removed immediately and your profile and listings are deleted or anonymised as described below.
This website cannot delete an account. There is no web form and no email request that will remove it — only the in-app action does.
2If you cannot open the app
Reinstall Freeshop from the App Store or Google Play, sign in, and use Account settings → Delete account. If you cannot sign in at all, write to freeshopappuk@gmail.com and we will help you regain access so you can delete the account from the app.
3What is deleted and what is kept
When your account is deleted:
- Account and profile data — deleted or anonymised within 30 days.
- Listings and interaction records — retained in archived form for up to 12 months to handle disputes and abuse, then deleted or anonymised.
- Reports and moderation logs — kept up to 2 years for safety, accountability and legal compliance.
- Records we must keep by law (e.g. content referred to the authorities) — kept as long as legally required.
- Technical logs — kept up to 90 days.
